James's Chocolate & Peanut Butter Oatmeal

A meal that I frequently enjoy preceding a heavy training session (and every session is a heavy session when you're James Valaitis) is a bowl of oatmeal. Oatmeal somehow has a reputation for being boring and I think it's because a load of nerds decided it was a health food and pretended that they're sucky excuses for oatmeal were super awesome healthy fun times.

I'm here to give you an example of a flavour of oatmeal which I look forward to eating and will often chose as 'treat food' over a lot of other stuff.

another place to hear about food

Food, weight-lifting and programming are all major parts of my life. As well as that stuff there is also gaming, comics, and films (particularly animation). I don't see why I shouldn't post about all of this stuff. Over time I will come to recognise my stronger talking points and weed out the lesser topics. Right now, even a year in, I feel this blog is still in it's infancy. Therefore, this is the best time to experiment with stuff and figure out what works. That's my excuse anyway.​
